MNRE not only publishes the installed capacities by taking them on record but also sets certain targets to be achieved by the industry players in specific renewable energy industry. For setting these targets, it has to identify the potential which different regions of our country possess in relation with various renewable energy sources.
Role of MNRE:
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is the nodal Ministry of the Government of India for all matters relating to new and renewable energy. The broad aim of the Ministry is to develop and deploy new and renewable energy for supplementing the energy requirements of the country.
